Rugby First XV Characters (BGS Chronicle December 1913)

EVANS, RHM (1913) – Right centre three quarter. Before this season has been playing in the position of scrum half, but after a shaky start has quite settled down in the centre, and although still inclined to pass wildly, combines well with his wing. Very plucky in defence, and is an excellent kick. Should do well next year after a little more experience.

An Attack Near Langemarck (BGS Chronicle December 1917)

"had been promoted not long ago to Captain's rank in the 7th D.C.L.I. While leading his company in an attack near Langemarck, he was killed by machine gun fire on August 16th. His Colonel writes of him as a most valuable officer and a personal friend: his men trusted him and admired his fearless daring."
