Son of Frank Leonard, flour merchant, and Alice Joanna Morton, of 50 Belmont Road, Bishopston. Older brother of Stanley, Alice R, and Kenneth. Stanley also attended Bristol Grammar School, but it is as yet unclear whether he served.

Leonard was born on 06/09/1879, and attended the School from 1891-1894. He served as a Private in the Army, with the Gloucestershire Regiment 12th Bn.. Leonard sadly lost his life on 05/05/1917, as a result of the War.
