Stone, Frederick James
Son of James Edwin Stone, surveyor, and Harriett Stone, of Staple Hill. Younger brother of Mary Adelaide.
Stone was born on 19/03/1892, and attended the School from 1902-1905. He served as a Captain in the Army, with the Gloucestershire Regiment 7th Bn. Stone sadly lost his life on 29/12/1916, as a result of the War.
Stone is buried in Amara War Cemetery, Iraq, reference XIV. J. 15.
Gallipoli and Mesopotamia (BGS Chronicle April 1919)

"was given a commission in the 7th Gloucesters at the outbreak of war, and saw service at Gallipoli in 1915 and in Mesopotamia the following year as Captain (acting). He was wounded in the attack on Kut el Amara, and died from the wounds on December 29th, 1916, at the age of 24."
