Son of Mrs Bell of 55 Linden Road, Redland. Younger brother of Harold Stormont Bell.

 

Bell was born on 24/06/1896, and attended the School from 1907-1914. He served as a Private in the Army, with the London Regiment (Prince of Wales' Own Civil Service Rifles) 15th Bn.. Bell sadly lost his life on 07/10/1916, as a result of the War.

 

He is buried in Warlencourt British Cemetery, France, grave reference I.J.32.

A Challenge Cup

A challenge cup for the Hundred Yards race has been presented to the school by H.S. Bell and his brother, F.D.L. Bell, now in the Lower Sixth Modern.  Such gifts are particularly welcome, not merely for their own worth, but as a memorial of the donors.

left the School 1914 after filling a conspicuous place in his House and in the School generally. He was reported 'missing' some time ago, and is therefore included in the Roll of Honour, though further news of him might possibly arrive, his friends will hope.
