Coole, Herbert Edward
Son of John Coole, house and estate agent, and Eliza Coole, of Ducie Road, Lawrence Hill. Younger brother of Eleanor E, Elizabeth Kate, and Eliza Ann. Also older brother to Mable Grace.

Coole was born on 12/04/1886, and attended the School from 1899-1902. He served as a Private in the Army, with the Wiltshire Regiment 1st Bn.. Coole sadly lost his life on 12/08/1917, as a result of the War.
Coole is remembered on Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium, panel 53.

A Bit About Him
​
Coole was working as at an architectural office until he enlisted in the village of Devizes, Wiltshire. The December 1917 Chronicle reports him as serving with Scouts section of the 1st Wiltshires. Whilst on active duty in Flanders he was struck by a shell and killed immediately.
