Coram, Hubert Harrington
Son of Herbert Adamson Coram, solicitor’s clerk, of 35 Upper Belmont Road. Younger brother of Ella M, and elder brother of Percy B.

Coram was born on 10/02/1886, and attended the School from 1897-1900. He served as a Company Quartermaster Sergeant in the Army, with the Gloucestershire Regiment 6th Bn. "C" Coy.. Coram sadly lost his life on 03/09/1916, as a result of the War.
Coram is buried in Auchonvillers Military Cemetery, France, grave reference II. H. 11.

Prior to joining the army, Coram was working as a teacher.

Irreparable Loss (BGS Chronicle December 1916)

"aged 30, 1897-1900. An old Boy and the son of an Old Boy. He joined the 6th Gloucesters and was serving as Company Quarter-Master Sergeant, when he was killed by a shell on September 3rd. His best tribute is the letter written by the men who knew him to his widow: 'We realise what an irreparable loss you have sustained, and believe us we have experiences a big loss as well, seeing that your late husband was so well liked and even loved by all who came in contact with him: we have lost and missed a great friend.' "
