The Chronicle Reports His Loss (December 1916)

"aged 26, 1903-1907. He maintained in his military service the character for reliability that was his at school. He did not seek a commission, but served in the not less arduous position of Company-Sergeant-Major in the 4th Gloucesters. He was much depended upon by his Officers and recieved the well-deserved distinction of a Mention in Despatches. But after serving from the beginning of the war he fell in action in the offensive of this year."
