Son of Valentine Hugh Stroud, Accountant to Millers and Corn Merchants, and Emily Anne Stroud, of 30 West Park Bristol. Older brother of Herbert Valentine, Howard Marvin, Harry Leslie, and Constance Mary. Harry Leslie also attended BGS and served during the War.

Stroud was born on 24/09/1886, and attended the School from 1895 May-Dec. He served as a Private in the Army, with the Army Service Corps, Mechanical Transport. Stroud sadly lost his life on 02/11/1918, as a result of the War.

Stroud is buried in Canford Cemetery, Bristol, reference Section V. Grave 4834.
