Grindon, Thomas Edward
Son of the late William Henry Grindon, and Mary Ellen Grindon, widow, of Delafosse, Newquay, Cornwall. Grindon was a boarder at Thorne Lodge during his time at BGS. Older brother of William Henry.

Grindon was born on 28/07/1888, and attended the School from 1902-1904. He served as a Private in the Army, with the Devonshire Regiment 8th Bn.. Grindon sadly lost his life on 26/10/1917, as a result of the War.
Grindon is buried in Hooge Crater Cemetery, Belgium, grave reference VII. A. 3.
Less than a year before he was killed in action, in the Winter of 1916, Grindon married Dora Eastlake in Cornwall.

Shooting Prize

As a cadet in the OTC, Grindon won a prize for shooting in 1904 having scored 62 points out of a maximum of 84.
