Son of Herbert Powell Hitchcock, war office clerk, Malta, and Agnes Maud Hitchcock. Herbert Powell was living at The Deans, Farnham, Surrey, while Mrs Hitchcock was living at 117 Ashley Down Road. By 1914 Herbert and Agnes has moved to Marlborough House, Sandown, Isle of Wight. Younger brother of Herbert William, who also served.

 

Hitchcock was born on 08/06/1897, and attended the School from 1906-1916. He served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army, with the Machine Gun Corps, Infantry, 25th Bn.. Hitchcock sadly lost his life on 14/04/1918, as a result of the War.

 

Hitchcock is remembered on Ploegsteert Memorial, Belgium, Panel 11.
