Poole, Arthur George
Son of George Lewis Poole, book binder, and Rhoda Poole, of Kensington House, Brislington. Older brother of Ivor Lewis, Rhoda Mary Grace, George Rowland, and Leslie Frederick. Ivor, George, and Leslie all attended Bristol Grammar School, but do not appear to have served.

Poole was born on 13/02/1893, and attended the School from 1907-1911. He served as a Captain in the Army, with the Gloucestershire Regiment. Poole sadly lost his life on 23/11/1918, as a result of the War.
Poole is buried Clevedon (St. Andrew) Churchyard, Britain, reference 934.

"served with distinction in France, being mentioned in despatches last June and rising to Captain's rank in the Gloucesters. He was seriously wounded, but recovered sufficiently to return to Cambridge and resume his work there. A recent attack of influenza was followed by fatal pneumonia."
