Deacon, Stanley Alfred
Son of Alfred Deacon, packing case maker, and Lillie Deacon of 14 Carnarvon Road, Redland. Younger brother of Olive M, and older brother of Clifford Albert.

Deacon was born on 20/12/1892, and attended the School from 1904-1911. He served as a Lieutenant in the Army, with the Gloucestershire Regiment 10th Bn.. Deacon sadly lost his life on 28/02/1917, as a result of the War.
Deacon is buried in Assevillers New British Cemetery, France, grave reference XII. D. 6.

West African Frontier Force (BGS Chronicle April 1917)

"aged 24, was at the School from 1904-1911. He enlisted as a private early in the war, and soon gained a commission in the West African Frontier Force with which he saw service in the Cameroons. After returning to England on sick leave in June 1915, he was sent to French front last November, and was killed at the beginning of March."
