Hill, Albert Charles Leonard

Son of Albert Edward Hill, building valuer, 60 Arley Hill Cotham.

 

Hill was born on 13/09/1895, and attended the School from 1907-1911. He served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army, with the Royal Berkshire Regiment 4th Bn.. Hill sadly lost his life on 27/05/1918, as a result of the War.

 

Hill is buried in St. Venant-Robecq Road British Cemetery, Robecq, France, grave reference I.B.7.

 

Struck by a Shell (BGS Chronicle July 1918)

"joined a Territorial battalion of the Gloucesters early in the war, and was badly wounded two years ago. On recovery he obtained a commission in the Royal Berkshire Regiment. While in the trenches he was struck by a piece of shell and almost instantaneously killed."
